Formtek, as part of a comprehensive plan to meet or exceed the heightened demands of the roll forming industry, has taken delivery of a new five-axis, dual chuck, machining center for its Cleveland location. This addition, along with their existing CNC equipment and other machines currently on order, will enable Formtek to produce roll tooling more efficiently, by eliminating many of the time consuming steps currently involved in tooling manufacture, while simultaneously increasing the quality and consistency of the tooling produced.

Winpro Wins Crystal Achievement Award

The SFM-Series Roll former from Winpro, A Member of the Formtek Group has won the Crystal Achievement award for The Most Innovative Machine. The award, sponsored by The National Glass Association and the Window and Door Magazine will be presented at the Glass Build Show in Las Vegas. The SFM-Series was nominated in the category of Frame, Sash or Door Fabrication and was selected as the winner by a panel of judges put together to represent a cross section of professionals from the window and door industry.

The SFM-Series was designed to form aluminum parts for window and door manufacturers, mainly screen frames and muntins. One of its innovative features is its ability to make up to four (4) different shapes without a roll change. This feature, combined with the capability to run up to 150’ per minute, makes the SFM-Series one of the most efficient roll formers on the market today.

Flexibility and speed with the addition of secondary fabrication is what makes the SFM-Series from Winpro a winner for any manufacturing environment.
