This Mandrel was sent to B&K Coiled Metal Processing for rebuild. The Mandrel shaft was replaced. The Mandrel was also updated to include a true compensating grip and modified for a future Outboard Bearing. As a part of the rebuild, new Gearbox bearings and seals were provided. The replacement Mandrel was installed over a weekend which meant no lost production for the customer.
After
The Mandrel was re-engineered to provide a true compensating grip. The upper left grip segment rocks back to smooth the transition from the first wrap on the Mandrel. The complete OD and grip segment were hard coated with tungsten carbide.
